Abstract

This research was developed for the purpose of finding out the impact of knowledge management (behaviors of practice and community nodes of practice) on the collaborative project in the UAE aviation industry. The main problem of this research was found that there is a need to know the obstacles faced by the UAE aviation industry for an effective Knowledge Management system development. Once the obstacles are laid out then, it would be easier to counter and prepare strategies to develop a framework for a knowledge management system in the UAE aviation industry. This study aimed with the completion of the research process, it would be able to promote a sustainable and everlasting knowledge management system in the aviation industry of the UAE by providing a working framework for the collaborative projects in the aviation industry.
This research has used the quantitative research approach. In the quantitative approach, this research has used the survey questionnaire instrument to collect the data from the research sample. The sample of the study will be staff of the UAE aviation industry. The analysis will take a place in the collected data. The analysis will be conducted using the SPSS program. The sample is the subset of the population. The road to choosing a sample is known as sampling. The number of components in the sample is the sample size. For this research, the population will be the staff of the UAE aviation industry, where the number of populations is around 5000, and based on the table (Krejcie & Morgan, 1976) the sample size of this study is 500 respondents that were receiving the questionnaires to fill.
The main results found that there is no relationship between behaviors of practice and collaborative projects in the UAE aviation industry. It also found that there is a significant and positive relationship between community nodes of practice and collaborative projects in the UAE aviation industry.

The findings and limitations of the research serve as a springboard for future research. There can be no unlimited study. The restriction of this study is that the scope of the studies requires knowledge management to specifically investigate collaborative projects in the UAE aviation industry. It is suggested to implement the same study in different sectors and industries to find out if the results may differ from one sector to another.
