2-designs and codes from certain 2-transitive simple groups

Abstract

We construct some designs and codes from the fixed points of the Sylow p-subgroups of the 2 points stabilizers in the 2-transitive permutation representation of the following simple groups: L₃(q)(q ≥ 3), L₂(11), U₃(4), U₃(9), A_n (n ≥ 6), S₆(2), S₈(2) and HS.
