Inversion theorems for functions with power series in a parameter

Abstract

We give inversion theorems for functions with a power series expansion in a parameter. The results are given in terms of Bell polynomials. The results are then applied to give new relations between the three types of polynomials that occur in Edgeworth-Cornish-Fisher-Hill-Davis expansions for the distribution and quantiles of a standardized statistic.
