NONEXISTENCE OF SQUARE ROOTS OF DIRECTED STRONGLY REGULAR GRAPHS

Abstract

Based on a seminal work of Art M. Duval, we ask whether there is a (0, l)-matrix whose square is the adjacency matrix of a directed strongly regular graph. In this note, we give a negative answer and generalize the results to square roots of doubly regular tournament matrices found recently. © 2020 Utilitas Mathematica Publishing Inc..
