Constructing exact solutions of mixed hyperbolic systems with coupled boundary conditions

Abstract

This paper deals with the construction of exact solutions of coupled mixed hyperbolic problems, with matrix coefficients in both the partial differential equation and in the boundary value conditions. Using a matrix separation of variables and the study of the underlying vector Sturm-Liouville problem with matrix conditions in the boundary value conditions, an exact series solution is constructed. An illustrative example is included.
